“It is a privilege to serve the Lord”
Mike began serving as pastor in April of 2009. He grew up in a pastor’s home. After high school, he married Lisa and they have now celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. They have been blessed with two daughters.
He graduated from the Tennessee Temple Bible School in 2001 and has served in the roles of youth director, assistant pastor, and pastor.
His passion is teaching from a practical format; and having a part in making disciples for our Lord. He enjoys being a husband and dad and he also likes traveling and riding motorcycles.
He believes, “No matter where you’re at… you ought to have a good time!” His favorite verses are Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

HBC is a unique church for Chattanooga. We’re traditional in our format, balanced, and we strive to be relevant. We believe in the centrality of a Bible-preaching pulpit and make the preaching the main feature of our worship services. We also strive to keep the preaching and teaching relevant to what folks need from God’s Word. We all enjoy coming to Bible study or the worship services and hearing a sermon that will strengthen our Faith, educate us and help us get through the next week. We also provide nursery care for infants and Bible classes for children, teenagers, and adults. We do use the King James translation of Scripture and believe that the Bible is the final word on life, morals, and how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and serve Him. We have a simple, yet balanced music ministry. We do like to sing the hymns and the standard anthems of the faith. They provide the “meat” of the music in our worship service. But we also like choruses and current music, too. In the final analysis, we all agree that this local church belongs to Jesus Christ. He has bought and paid for it with His precious blood. We are fellow servants of His in a family atmosphere and we love serving Him in this local assembly! |
